Why Unity5?

Unity5 is the leading provider of software to the parking and traffic management sector, serving private operators, local authorities and government bodies across the UK and internationally.

The Company has built a comprehensive suite of software solutions spanning parking enforcement, permitting and traffic management, with strong positions in both private parking and the Local Authority market. Structural drivers, including digitisation of enforcement, adoption of ANPR technology and increasing outsourcing within local government, provided clear long-term growth tailwinds. At investment, Unity5 had a strong product set and customer base, but required leadership depth and enhanced go-to-market capability to unlock its full potential.

Strategy

The first priority was professionalising and strengthening the leadership team. The Synova Talent team supported the hire of the Chairman, then helped deliver a structured founder succession plan, including the hiring of a Chief Commercial Officer who was subsequently transitioned into the Chief Executive Officer role and an HR Director to replace the founders.

Senior capability was further enhanced through targeted hires across finance (including a Chief Finance Officer), marketing, go-to-market and operations (including a Chief Operating Officer). The Synova Talent team also worked alongside management to scope and support the hire of a new Chief Product & Technology Officer to lead long-term product and platform development.

Investment was also made in the broader commercial organisation, with new business development heads and additional account management capacity, giving the Company the internal bandwidth to support public sector expansion and a growing pipeline.

This deliberate strengthening of the management bench created the structure and discipline required to scale operations, integrate acquisitions and execute against larger, more complex government and enterprise opportunities.
